CHURCH RENOVATION PROJECT

_______________________________

Dear Friends,

Before I was inducted into the benefice twenty years ago, I was asked if I would support a project to redevelop the west end of the church. This we partly did a dozen years ago.

However, ideas and plans developed organically, and though the church desperately needs redecoration which involves scaffolding to reach the roof, we realised that the heating, lighting, and electrics really needed to be replaced as well to make the church fit for purpose for the next few decades.

We have worked for 8 years or so planning the way forward, including disabled access at the south door, and we are now ready to begin fundraising and applying for grants.

The project can certainly be done in phases, but we now need to make a start.

We will be erecting one of those famous Thermometers at some point in the churchyard, to mark our progress.

Best wishes

Anthony
